OTTAN
Founded by Ayse Yilmaz · United Kingdom · Climate and Energy · Seed / Early Revenue
Ottan transforms bio-based waste into scalable, design-forward solid materials. Our vision is to enable scalable circular production globally, creating a world where materials are produced without extracting new resources.
Our mission is to make nature-based solid surfaces the preferred choice through innovation, design, and global collaboration. We primarily target the Gulf and EU markets, scaling worldwide through licensing and distribution partnerships
OTTAN's work is aligned with 7 UN Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being: We prioritize the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees through safe working environments and responsible practices. SDG 5 – Gender Equality: As a female-founded and female-led company, we actively support women's employment and empowerment at all levels. SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: We are building a decentralized production model that transforms local organic waste into materials for global markets. SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities: Our eco-friendly materials support sustainable urbanization and healthier built environments. SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production: We promote circular economy principles, resource efficiency, and waste reduction across our value chain. SDG 13 – Climate Action: We directly reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption, contributing to urgent global climate targets. SDG 15 – Life on Land: By valorizing agricultural waste, we reduce pressure on forests and natural ecosystems, preventing deforestation and biodiversity loss. We measure our social impact through the reach and engagement of our advocacy efforts promoting upcycled materials and circular economy principles. As we scale, we track local job creation, the integration of local resources into regional economies, and the economic value added to our supplier networks. We also assess the wellbeing, productivity, and overall happiness of our employees as a core indicator of our social performance.
