The six things you can put in
A need. Money, a hire, a customer, an expert, a specific person, or just somewhere to start. Say it plainly and say when you need it by.
Something you can offer. Time, expertise, capital, distribution, a service, a room. The network only works if this side is filled in too.
A win that closed. Something landed. Say what it was and, if you are willing, what it took in money and in weeks. That is the part that helps the next person.
An introduction you can make. You know somebody who should meet somebody. Tell me who and why, and I will handle both sides.
A resource worth sharing. A grant, a report, a tool, a guide, a programme. Anything you would send a friend at your stage.
An event worth attending. Yours or somebody else's. If it is good, it gets into the newsletter and in front of the room.
All six go into the same record. That is deliberate. A network that keeps its needs in one place and its offers in another has two lists and no matches.
If none of the boxes fit
Write it in. There is a field for exactly that, and it is not a polite dead end. Written-in answers get read, and when the same one shows up more than once it becomes a category. The list of problems this network works on is supposed to grow from the people in it, not from me guessing in advance.
What happens next
Within a few days I read your card and tag it. Nothing automated decides anything.
If there is a match, I write to both sides separately before connecting anyone. Nobody gets a surprise introduction and nobody gets volunteered.
If there is no match yet, your card stays in the record and gets re-read as new cards arrive. A card with no match today can get one next month.
What gets published is counts and patterns, never your name, your location or your words, unless you have specifically said yes. What the network needs goes out each week so people working on the same problem can find each other.
Every introduction that comes out of a card is written down and published with what it turned into, named only with your consent, described otherwise, and counted either way. That record is The Ledger. It is how you check the work before you file anything.
